A long time ago before the invention of many of the scientific
devices that we now use to explain the causes of events in nature, people
made up stories called folktales to explain the things they did not understand.
The people of Australia (Aboriginees, similar to our American Indians)
told the story "Rainbow Bird" to explain how fire came into the world and
how the parrot got its beautiful colored feathers. This brightly
illustrated book is as much fun to look at as read. |
