Things we see may be affected by the things around us and we must be
careful not to be fooled. "All Those Secrets of the World" is a poignant
story about a little girl and her family when her father goes away to war.
The story takes place when war was still romantic and we possessed an innocence
that seems to be disappearing. The two children help each other through
a lonely time, and learn about the world through a child's perspective.
The grandparents in our family who have read this book were very moved
by it, as it evoked memories of their own childhood. I would recommend
it as much as a gift for them to read to their grandchildren as a gift
for a child. |
